Your partnership will enable SFM to equip the Processing Centre and to run apprenticeship in agribusiness for youths. The Processing Centre will help small holder farmers in the following ways: to reduce post-harvest loss; to train them to reduce pre-harvest loss; to provide technical support to help them get a good yield; to access finance to grow their business; and to access local, regional and international markets.

The Processing Centre will help small holder farmers in the following ways: to reduce post-harvest loss; to train them to reduce pre-harvest loss; to provide technical support to help them get a good yield; to access finance to grow their business; and to access local, regional and international markets.

These activities are important because small holder farmers are caught in a vicious circle of poverty because of lacks of support, training, finance, and infrastructure to enable them add value to their produce and to derive adequate income to meet their needs and to provide for their families.

The Agribusiness Apprenticeship will help youths in the following ways: to learn farming skills; make them work ready; access to finance and market chains. These activities are important because youths associate farming with poverty and they lack the skills to engage in farming. Hence, this apprenticeship will change the negative perception and equip youths with the skills to engage in farming and to access loans to grow their business.

These activities will engender social benefits including jobs creation; enhanced livelihoods; contribute to national food security; enhanced revenue for government; enhanced farming skills; positive perception about farming among youths; reduction in urban migration; and business growth brought by access to finance.
